Sunway Poseidon Dodgeball Club

Back in 2017, Sunway Poseidon Dodgeball Club was facing financial difficulties and participants representing the university had to fork out their personal savings to fund themselves to represent the university!

I have tried to seek funds from the university Sports Officers but they were reluctant to offer us any form of subsidies or support.

In the end, with the goal of sponsoring the entire team to represent the university in the Dodgeball Rookies League, I spearheaded the [Sunway University Inter-Faculty Dodgeball Tournament 2017], where I was lucky enough to have formed a team of competent committee from the society to make the event go on smoothly. The event was quite a success!

Unfortunately, we did not raise enough for the entire team but still managed to fund several players who were in need of funds for the tournament and managed to win a Gold Medal for the Co-ed division in the end!

With this, the hard work was all worth it because the team is now more recognised by the university Sports Officers and this win could hopefully encourage them to by more generous in funding us next time!
